Bush is a criminal whose administration is responsible for a lot of deaths and strife. This isn't the same as befriending someone that just disagrees on politics. Ellen is signaling that Bush (the war criminal) is an okay guy. He is *not*. This is not a normal situation.
Roy, do yourself a favor and click unfollow. I have plenty of friends who I'm *certain* you would consider criminals, plenty of others who'd get the same treatment from the other side of the fence, and I have zero interest in a norm of democratizing personal relationships

Now why would I do that when I enjoy most of your tweets? Did any of these friends of yours have a level of power akin to that of a head of state? Have they made decisions resulting in the loss of 100,000+ lives?

I'm not going to get into it. It's not your business or anyone else's. I've had *family* relationships deteriorate over influential friends I refused to disown, so "I enjoy your tweets" is weak currency here. Go find whatever you're looking for elsewhere.
