Something I don't think I've seen discussed: culture is set up to favor long-term singlehood/partner optionality, but societal infrastructure still advantages couples Health insurance for spouses, extra slack re: credit history if you have a partner cosign loans/leases, etc

The height of the Maslow pyramid differs across age groups I can see how one can make this argument about culture for single people shifting to privilege optionality. Once you have kids, the entirety of your pyramid realigns to be a support beam for new lives. A whole new world.

Societal infrastructure evolves to meet the needs of people who need society. Single ppl can go make out on the playa. My kids need safe environments for learning, socialization, school field trips. Young horny people need serendipity & wide nets Families have different needs
