We *did* actually fail Greta Thunberg We created a situation where a child was so ridden with anxiety about global catastrophe that she stopped eating, and then we praised her for skipping school to vent her anger Her obsession could have made her a scientist, maker, builder https://twitter.com/Education4Libs/status/1180669227931451392 …

Where did the '11 year' figure come from? Just Googled it to no result. More generally, the actual problem is probably a Slow Elevator problem; different to how it seems. I suggest it might be an adversarial politicking system that has forced rhetoric from logos towards pathos.

If you have take issue with how Greta Thurnberg presents issues, you should also have a problem with how Donald Trump presents issues. Deeper than that, you should have a problem with the decades of work and money spinning all manner of issues.

You are very smart but - this is her choice. I thought you were all about youth autonomy? - she believes in political reform a prio, maybe you don't - she is supporting a popular movement, which she believes will change policy I may not agree with all, but it's not incoherent.

She's navigated the incentive structure provided to her very well. She doesn't provide a lot of factual basis for her arguments, but nobody is asking her to. The policy changes she wants are too vague to easily discern, but as broadly interpreted would be disastrous.
