I think we can follow the thread further than "because it gets clicks." *Everyone* wants to scour a shooter's life for mentions of communism or capitalism, religion or atheism, race, sex, mental illness, drugs, reddit, 4chan, good parents, bad parents... why?
Can we ALL please just agree to stop acting like vultures over carrion when something like this happens? Maybe we don't have to be so pathetic that we validate our political instincts on how different they are from the ramblings of the world's most broken people

To interject in among the "yeah, but humans will never do this" -- I deliberately ignore them for exactly these reasons, expect to continue forever, and will do so whether I can expect anyone else to do the same or not.
That's a good candidate for regulation. When everybody's like "but mah gore!!!", a strong government must step in and ban that shit outright.
