I saw a thread recently belittling the very idea of suburbs, like “Why would ANYbody want to live there?!” A total pile-on of young educated professional city-dwellers. City? Cool. Country? Also cool. But suburbs? Gross!

My 1st & firmest thought/response was “NONE of you have kids.” Perspective/priorities shift dramatically when there are tiny humans completely under your charge. They need space, comfort, & other people who care for them, & somehow parents need to $ for it all. They need suburbs.
