The situation in SF is getting worse, and it’s time we at least *try to do something.* Like, I don’t know, when the police is standing right next to a man brandishing a knife at passerby’s, asking if they’d like a cut… maybe arrest him?https://twitter.com/webdevMason/status/1177772126964600832 …

It’s unacceptable, it’s getting more frequent, and it’s time for San Franciscans to really get pissed. For now — I would pitch in if that person decides to sue the city over this. Who else is in?

Glad that at least cops don't profile people. They have better things to do than waste their time investigating if someone MIGHT be stealing a bike. And even if they catch them it's a misdemeanor anyways.

If you're sawing a bike lock off, you are probably stealing a bike. If this is somehow a controversial thing to say, honestly, I'll take my licks.

But it's not. We both know it's not. Playing dumb has just become a remarkably well-tolerated tribal signal.

You can't possibly know that for sure though. Your literally profiling which is just wrong. Not to mention if he attacks you it'll be your fault for playing vigilante. That's a cops job and your not a cop.

If you see a probable crime, you should call the police, and they should investigate it. This is not a difficult series of concepts.
