People go into serious debt trying to make these companies work. When they can, they reinvest their own gains or seek funds from investors who've been through the same grind. There's no business loan for a moonshot. There are very few grants for expensive passion projects.

Yes exactly. Leeching capital away from founders and entrepreneurs, and transferring that capital to banks and investment companies, just to prevent the founders and entrepreneurs from becoming billionaires? No econ reason. Must be envy. Also many IB execs live like bils.
