I was prescribed clonazepam for ~10 weeks during a period of extraordinary stress. It was not easy coming off those meds. Benzos come with the risk of a notoriously difficult and dangerous (possibly deadly) withdrawal. I'm sure some folks are thinking "I took klonopin once and I was fine!" It's very different when you're reliant on these meds during a genuine crisis. Docs are hesitant to prescribe and I'm pretty confident Jordan Peterson didn't take the decision lightly. Have compassion.

FWIW, I'm glad I was able to get the meds. Before taking them, my anxiety (which was spiking due to very real and very awful events in my life) was manifesting as increasingly severe physical symptoms, including extreme insomnia that was pushing me toward psychosis.
