It's a rare person who is doing well *and* wants to endure the sort of game-breaking competition that will most likely cause them to do less well, even if it's clearly better for lower-skill workers and everyone who needs basic goods. But *those guys* are the heroes.

Well, I certainly don’t think they should be considered heroes. This situation is similar to the dawn of agriculture - a huge leap forward, but one also marked by a decline in living standards for those tilling the soil (see statistics on height for example).
