I think kids would make *better* decisions pertaining to schooling than adults, because they're both experientially much closer to it and because they are currently + for some time the direct consumers. But on just about everything else they've been forced out of those roles
I don't think they would only vote for frivolous things, as some would assume; they do so in e.g. school government because frivolous matters tend to be the only things their schools will allow them to influence, under the guise of offering a "civic participation" experience
We have far too much infantilism in our society. We can see it not only in the children, but in the adults as well. Young adults should have the ability to make intelligent choices by age 12 or 14. With home and neighborhood schools, they should vote by 12 or 14.
