Really something that you've got the bulk of the democratic field admitting that American kids are conditioned into a state of terror in schools & implying that they're *right* to believe they're in danger while just presuming that everyone should keep sending their kids therehttps://twitter.com/jonst0kes/status/1171430094952263680 …

FWIW, I think active shooter drills are unjustifiable, support gun control policies that aren't shot down within 15 seconds by people who understand how guns work better than I do, and worry about the kids who experience nonlethal violence at school as a matter of routine

Although I'm totally against shooter drills in schools, are fires actually that much more common that they need to be prepared for? My understanding is fires are also super rare.

After the research the answer definitely seems to be "no" the last structural school fire that killed someone was in 1958. So although I'm totally for ditching shooter drills, we should probably start ditching fire drills too.

. The active shooter drills are an outrage and we should stop doing them. They needlessly traumatize kids, & are promoted by ppl who either can't do basic math or are trying to traumatize parents & kids into voting for pointless & unenforceable weapon bans.
