I realize that this is an abrasive thing to say, but I see this corrosive mindset everywhere. (Your schools are terrible? Put your kids there anyway.) It's not wrong to put your own mask on first before assisting the passenger nearest you, and then them before the other rows.

About 6% of men commit all the rapes, and almost all of them repeat the offense multiple times. We have to defeat those 6%. Fighting a nonexistent fantastical "patriarchy" will not do that. Killing or catching the actual rapists will.

Not to mention that it's wrong even within the framework it poses since most rapists are serial rapists so defense is a deterrent that protects everyone. The more lethal the defense, the more effective.
