I was mediocre but hacky-OK at most of what was required of me before I got my first pair of glasses. I could read & survey my own writing if I looked closely. But getting those glasses was like heaven x an acid trip. I had *no* *idea* what I was missing

I wasn't as severely nearsighted, but when I got my first pair I made my parents take me back. Tried to explain to the doctor there was something wrong. Stuff was too sharp, like there were outlines around everything.
