The whiteboard was incomprehensible, ao I listened *very* closely to what was said — but struggled to keep it in working memory. I peered down at worksheets from 2-3 inches away, then came up for breath. Was found out when a teacher moved me to the front row, assuming I was lazy
So, you just learned writing and stuff from your workbooks then?
I was mediocre but hacky-OK at most of what was required of me before I got my first pair of glasses. I could read & survey my own writing if I looked closely. But getting those glasses was like heaven x an acid trip. I had *no* *idea* what I was missing
I did the same, but to a lesser degree, as my eyesight wasn't quite that bad. Laser eye surgery was one of the decisions that I made that I'm happiest about.
