I don't honestly see what the problem is with spreading your ideas across continents — to me it still hinges on the quality of ideas? Otherwise it seems like a really shitty version of pseudo-antipaternalism to think "this culture shouldn't be interfered with"

I do think if the context of evangelism was more like a comparative religion class, it wouldn’t rub me the wrong way as much. It’s not the “X cultures should’ve remained pure” thing for me, but the certainty and the unrequested outreach.

Give me the original Christian missionaries any day, just showing up in Scotland and minding their own business building their monastery unless someone asked :)

“This culture shouldn’t be interferes with” I think is a statement similar to “don’t interrupt people” or “don’t be a reply guy”. It’s an attempt to minimise negative outcomes that also minimises positive outcomes. If you’re sensitive and artful about it you can dance around this
