Just got caught by Mormon missionaries to Oakland. Honestly cannot find a harsh word for these folks. "You guys nailed it on architecture."

Also, perhaps, Spanish speakers are those they have the highest success rate with.

Former Mormn Missionary here, can confirm (anecdotally) this is often true.

I sometimes see these kids in Singapore too, chatting people up on the train. Exactly as you describe. I found myself liking them too. There’s a non-neediness and non-pushiness that’s refreshing

I have a hard time viewing “travel across the world spreading your religion explicitly” as non-pushy, even when cool about it in the micro level. I’d like to be more open to it... I think I have a visceral reaction against evangelism (w/any worldview but religion is most common)

I hope the earth is inherited by the happy. Mormons seem so, and they're a leader on the breeder board (3.4 kids per family in the U.S.). The world could do much worse. (Are constitutively happy people more likely to become Mormon, or does Mormonism turn anyone happy?)

*constitutionally
