These narratives are rather detached from reality or anything we want to get to. They obscure real challenges facing the world today with normative visions masked under a plea for "imagination".

Techno utopian fantasy is valuable. We have to think very differently to break the mold, explore new frontiers etc. In parallel we have to make the world tolerable for billions of humans. We now have enough tech to ensure material basics for all. This needs attention.
