I'm curious what books you've found to be the most impactful on your life (both fiction & non).

It seems like the real challenge nowadays is mastering yourself. A lot of doors are open, but first you have to convince yourself to go through the door rather than sit around and watch YouTube videos all day.

watching YouTube all day is actually fine, the scholarship part is that you have to take notes as you go and articulate out what you think

I'm bullish on one-on-one tutoring (though the remuneration might not be great). Teaching to groups won't go away, but the chaff will get separated from the wheat. Peoples' tolerance for shitty lectures will keep dropping.

"Today you can become a scholar without a teacher, then a teacher... From there, there aren't a lot of limits." Scholarship to be meaningful needs application out there & needs a society that permits practice of rare knowledge and tolerates mistakes. Those things may be eroding.
