- cushy sleeping prisons (above) - actually enforcing our laws (resulting in less cushy 24-hour prison time, living back on the street, rinse and repeat) - being overrun by methheads, etc - ??? Does anyone know of solutions that are pro-freedom both in the short and long-term?
I can only assume that if you don't feel safe on the street during the day, you would feel something like abject terror at the prospect of sharing a "cushy sleeping prison" with the same folks overnight, which is presumably why there are empty shelter beds

Oh man, I assumed they had their own quarters at least, but having to be a bldg full of them even with your own place—idk how I forgot about that bit. I had a homeless friend who refused to go to shelters for that reason.

Might be ok if authorities actually treated the distinct groups separately— addicts in one place, mentally ill in another, down-on-their-luck in another, etc. Still might be shittier than just prison for offenders. Ick.
