I really dislike "self-care" culture, not because I think it's too indulgent but because it often feels like it's framing the relationship a person should have with themselves like that of a chronically ill patient + a live-in nurse

I think it is a supplementary life script for people who are really disappointed with what they perceive as the achievable universe of life scripts. This is occasionally frustrating, because there’s many more ways to live than come packaged in a script.
