fairly easy to monitor if there’s a spike in soda and reverse course. Meanwhile, due to the controversial sequencing, they’ve gotten a bunch of free awareness for their campaign.

I suppose the good news is that this sort of thing only applies noticeably negative pressure on people of limited means, and a wide array of other local political players are doing a very good job of getting rid of those

I don't have to play any guessing games, because I have actually been such a person. Reusable bottles are great, and they're also extremely easy to forget while packing unless you use them regularly. Relying on US airline staff for fluids is a recipe for a dehydration headache

Consumers make price-conscious choices. This isn't so much a guess as a fundamental assumption of economics. If water in aluminum bottles is sold at the same price point as water in plastic bottles, fine. If not, it's not a shot in the dark to predict a drop in water consumption
