fairly easy to monitor if there’s a spike in soda and reverse course. Meanwhile, due to the controversial sequencing, they’ve gotten a bunch of free awareness for their campaign.

I for one definitely trust SF city officials to monitor the publicly-opaque outcomes of their politically trendy policies and rapidly alert the public and reverse course as appropriate, because apparently I recently lost my mind

I suppose the good news is that this sort of thing only applies noticeably negative pressure on people of limited means, and a wide array of other local political players are doing a very good job of getting rid of those
