I'd rather have my kids work in temp jobs so they learn some self reliance. At the end we will go back to the wisdom of ancient times and realize that we should treat kids as young adults and not the other way around if we want mental health.

I'll go there. Abolish public schools. Give the money to families so they can raise and educate their kids at home or in neighborhood schools. Let those with the proper talents then go on to attend trade/technical school, college, and professional school.
