Idle observation: I’ve noticed several instances of some Americans using “waitress” as a some sort of insult or put-down. Which is strange to me. I visited once and I’m protective of American waitresses. They were all so nice to me. In SG, hawker uncles are like “Wha u wan??”

Lol I actually got deputised at a WH one night because my friend's co-worker refused to exit her car and help work. In other news so many people think they can snoot their way to a higher caste in just about any country. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Waffle House was an absolute highlight of my trip to the US. Everyone there was lovely - if you’re from outside the States, watch the Anthony Bourdain + Sean Brock at Waffle House and it’s almost like being there
