That depends on the country, I'd think! Looking at the uk 2011 census, total population was 56kk, and 33kk live in cities >50k, so it's pretty close!

There’s that word again: hometown. I haven’t been able figure out what it means. Where I was born? Where I went to kindergarten? Where I finished high school? Where my parents live? Where I’d prefer to live?

I moved a lot when I was younger, but I usually take it as they place that I felt I could return to after a long time. So, for me thats my highschool town.
