Reading the question, I see what happened I think: all respondents were not asked to "rank" countries, but just "what is the most dangerous country by X metric?" Unless you live in Niger, you won't say it, youll forget it exists.
But why on earth would anyone, anywhere, think the US is the most dangerous place on earth for women re: sexual assault/harassment? That's just such a tremendous distortion of reality and betrays a real lack of understanding
Oh yeah, this is *def* woke signalling shit, it felt hip to stay that. Just anyone saying that, if asked "okay so US or Egypt, which is worse?" would suddenly flip their answer.
Availability bias. People are extremely lazy, cognitively speaking. So when asked such a question, they transmute it into: "Name a country where women get sexually assaulted/harrassed." Since the US is important, it comes to mind quickly, and it satisfies the question.
