I think this is insanity if you expected them to deliver an objective ranking and is entirely what the model predicts if you think that the objective of producing this artifact is to achieve PR or funding objectives.
The interesting thing is that poll respondents were "[evenly] spread across Europe, Africa, the Americas, South East Asia, South Asia and the Pacific."
Reading the question, I see what happened I think: all respondents were not asked to "rank" countries, but just "what is the most dangerous country by X metric?" Unless you live in Niger, you won't say it, youll forget it exists.
But why on earth would anyone, anywhere, think the US is the most dangerous place on earth for women re: sexual assault/harassment? That's just such a tremendous distortion of reality and betrays a real lack of understanding
