One big question here (don't know answer) is how much the "addicted" people themselves believe they're addicted vs. outsiders tell them they're addicted. Hypothesis: people are told they have "fake" addictions (D&D, rap msuic cited in the video) but don't believe it themselves.

Whereas with real, enduring addictions that stand test of time, even if takes a while/it's an uncomfortable truth, most people know deep down they have a problem. Interestingly, it seems like several internet addictions (porn, social media) are in this category.
