The simultaneous rise of social media (esp. twitter, which never made any delineation between public figures & private citizens) & fall of traditional media in its capacity to curate (or generate $$$) have led to some truly disturbing + sociopathic norms within that profession

People don't understand how to determine who is or isn't a "public figure" anymore, a descriptor that used to almost always come with resources for maintaining *some* privacy & managing harassment. It's VERY scary to be targeted this way when you don't necessarily have that

The best most of us can do is just keep our eyes on the ball in the broader game & try to track these rapid cascades of change rippling through broader social norms & institutions, while understanding that as a population, we are wholly unprepared to adapt to the madness

We are all at great risk of losing some portion of our humanity here, myself included. Very negative shaping forces have developed on the obvious layers *and* via much more subtle & pernicious mechanisms. Keep the principles of charity & empathy close or you will likely lose them
