Would you RATHER have to:
jump in a lake on a very cold morning, or
be stung by several bees at once?
(Assume that both are safe; you won't get hypothermia or have a severe allergic reaction)

Interesting. I can wash dishes in water so hot my hands turn (slightly frighteningly) red...

Cold lake is actually good for you though. Doubt bee stings are

I kinda doubt it is for people who have the kind of experience I do: headache lasting for hours, feeling of extreme anxiety/danger, difficulty not crying

These things are so hard to compare! Cold water - provided you're not going to get hypothermia - feels safer and less invasive. Bees put mini poison under your skin!

It also doesn't get better/ more comfy over time.

If they’re honey bees I’ll take that. But it’s like a small hammer hit when hornets
around here get you. Then gimme the iceThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Maybe you’ve already solved this/it’s a non-issue in Venice Beach, but my top tips for this are: a wool base layer (very important) https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-base-layer-and-thermal-underwear/ … + down jacket for the outdoors. Indoors, a heating pad is nice for sleeping https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-heating-pad/ …

@devonzuegel gets cold hands and bought a USB hand warmer, but not sure how that worked out

I’m really not flexing here (well maybe a bit) but doing a blistering hot Sauna and then jumping into a pre-cut hole in the ice of a Northern Ontario Lake is one of my favourite natural psychedelic experiences. Like rising out of the ice but still being warm is so awesome.
