I guess it's an open question whether those who go on to transition (or cease treatment and resume puberty later than usual) make up some or all of the expected gains. Seems like a critical research question, which is why the "nothing to see here, folks" conclusion is baffling

My understanding is that interruptions in periods for girls via anorexia/sport (low fat ratio) gives them increased lifelong risk of osteoporosis. I don't see why this would be different.
