Teachers, schools, friend groups, jobs. When you are essentially *never* asked to do anything pointless, or at least given the freedom to stop without penalty when you discover your task is pointless, respect is feasible. Without respect, authority is required to maintain order

Prime example of the latter: every government department I've ever had the dubious pleasure of interacting with. If I could find a medium-sized to large-sized company that seemed to be the former, I would immediately buy their stock.
