When I was in Africa, one of the guides told me that lions don’t hunt humans because lions don’t know how good we taste. If a lion attacks a human they always have to put it down because the lion will go, “damn those fat omnivores taste good and that wasn’t very difficult.”

This is definitely a better answer for lions than for sharks, since we don't usually have the ability to remove individual sharks that nom on humans from the gene pool

Because they mistake humans for seals. That’s why it’s often surfers getting attacked, look like seals from below. Sharks don’t like the taste of humans. I’m surprised the survey is 50/50 I thought this was common knowledge

"Why don't sharks like the taste of humans?" is basically the same question

"This thing is swimming extremely ineffectively, it's probably sick or old or injured, easy meal... WOAH ok no it's actually really strong and energetic! I guess it just sucks at swimming for some reason, alright I'm out"

“Letting us off with a warning” is sadly not a poll option?

That is, are we sure that we have full visibility into the cases where a shark does eat a person? Rolls into “lost at sea”?
