One small reason I ultimately dropped out of college was that I was made to take a PE course that was essentially the same pointless exercise in humiliation from high school. Semester after semester, I took and dropped it. By my end, I had no respect for my own degree program

The Swedish version of this is an increasing number of mandatory classes in highly politicized environmentalism and gender/diversity/equality for engineering students. Because engineers who don't toe the Party line are very dangerous.

I attended Hungarian state uni for 5 years and there were 4 mandatory classes everyone in any dept had to take: - philosophy (makes sense) - rhetorics (nope) - "IT" (could have made sense but it was basically about MS DOS, in 2007) - PE (nope)
