In a healthy culture, what the young owe the old is balanced by what the old owe the young. What we all owe each other is the realization that we all can have and do have PURPOSE, and without that we will necessarily fall into a fight over resources.
Without a collaborative purpose, we will find purpose in division, in taking what we can take and justifying it along the most salient divisions. Generational, gender & even class warfare are all absurd on their face in a context where it is society itself that can win or lose.
Yes the grandparents can look after the grandkids until the grandkids get older. Then the grandkids can look after their grandparents. But this requires clans, not just the "nuclear family".
Please keep your focus on these things. Take this level of leadership into your daily interactions. Bringing worthwhile direction and energy practically and simply to your environs will always pay off. What better to do?
