At what point do we stop understanding it as a "sport"? When I'm begging him to stop? When he gropes me? When he rapes me? When he kills me? What is the utility in understanding this as a game, at each of these points?

To be clear, I have no doubt that most of these people are relatively normal and would not beat up on a girl. Or follow her home. Or meet her behind her workplace, where she parks her car. At night. But when your norms enable nutbar people to do violent things, that's on you.

In real sports the audience is usually willing to pay to see the matches instead of horrified that they take place on public streets. And should we really be fine with having "war zones" in public places where journalists should reasonably expect to get hurt? I think not.
