They do seem hellbent on speedrunning the "Beware when fighting monsters..." quote. And the thing is, all movements have bad apples. If people were just like "yeah, that guy doesn't represent us," I'd be happy to let it go. But people can't seem to bring themselves to say it.
And an alarming number of folks around here are pretty emphatic that this *is* what they stand for, and political violence is good actually.

They're cowards who are afraid to show their faces and deal with any consequences.
For various reasons beyond the purview of twitter, communism has become read as feminine/gentle; the historic reality is a lot more like that photo, even leaving aside their record of governance. If you think of this as self-expression rather than PR, it tracks perfectly.
This is of course another way of saying: watch the hips, not the head, and be careful with an announced self-identity which is belied by actual choices. “Anti-“ anything usually covers for a positive agenda, often one which does not wish to trade on its own name.
