SF has been an unswayable sanctuary city for 20 years, spends >$40k per homeless person PER YEAR on initiatives that are supposedly abating homelessness, and is one of the least "tough on crime" cities you'll ever find, with essentially no recourse for minor thefts & assaults
Immigrants can't afford to live here. The homeless can't afford homes. The police spend their time shooing tent cities around in an endless loop. There really is a relatively simple explanation for all of this
What is the simple explanation? To me it seems like it is a great place to be if you’re homeless. Which could be why there are so many homeless. Is that wrong? A lot of working people don’t make 40k a year.
... I don't think you understand what homelessness is like, and I think the solution is to build more housing. By and large people don't like being homeless, and spending the money towards getting and keeping people employed and with housing is more productive long term
