The more the right wing drags AOC for bartending, the more I feel the need to defend her. Stop giving the woman shit for working a service industry job you elitist fucks and attack her ideas instead.

The reality on both the left & the right is that politicians tend to be tracked for political influence from childhood. Top tier schools have been & will continue to be complicit in this despite the big admissions scam. People who attack AOC for having to work to live are nuts.

She’s not being knocked for being a bartender. She’s being knocked for pretending she knows more than others about climate, taxation etc when her experience and knowledge was confined to bartending. Like a brain surgeon telling Curry how to shoot 3-pointers.

Knock her for that. If you haven't seen attacks on her specifically for having been a bartender. you've really not surveyed the landscape. Her ideas often lack the depth to even constitute coherent policy, but that's not because she's the wrong fucking caste

AOC: "Here are a THOUSAND terrible ideas that I propose as legislation that will ruin the entire nation" Right: "LOL someone had a working-class job—THAT is the *one* thing that we must attack!" If the Right fell in a barrel full of tits, they'd come up sucking their own thumbs

It's madness. How else can you describe the compulsive need to appeal to authority when that authority has made it clear that you're not an important subset of the recognized constituency? But no matter. We're human. We know what matters, if we let ourselves pay attention to it.
