I think it's a pretty big deal when people want other people to fear for their safety. Nuts, I know

I don't think he was actively advocating that he wants politicians to fear for their safety, just that he doesn't want politicians' views of themselves to run away to such an extreme that they no longer view themselves as mortals who have to play by the same rules as everyone.

"He's not saying they should fear for their safety, he's saying they should remember they're mortal." Uh

There's a pretty big difference between those two things. God-kings were kind of a thing for a long time. When you believe you're a god, it means you can do whatever you want to the people because you're morally superior. There are politicians today who aren't SO far from that.
