all im gonna say about the andy ngo stuff is if you have enough money to donate to his gofundme, you have enough money to donate to the literal dozens of gofundme‘s I see on my tl for people who are homeless, disabled, or abused, and your use of that money is very telling

idk, your priorities seem kinda out of whack if people going homeless or being food insecure is less important to you than protecting this guy
-
like i don’t have to agree with him getting punched to think protecting people from homelessness or like, literal death, is more important

Perhaps the best approach might be not to judge each other's moral high ground (or lack thereof) at all. Let's show kindness towards others. It gets very tricky if we prescribe the recipients. Slippery slope to the neediest people in the world.

I don’t see a need to equate the degree of damage in these instances. homelessness, for many people (especially a lot of my friends who have chronic illness or are disabled), is a death sentence. andy ngo got beat up once. the damage here is not comparable.
