Yeah, I think about this a lot! I generally reject strong "social construct"-esque frames bc I think a lot of this is happening on highly inaccessible layers (similar to reading micro-expressions, reflexive mimicry, etc.), but the self is *very* wrapped up in social animal stuff
Agreed! It’s super important to talk about but like you said doing it accurately across gulfs of cultural expertise domains is almost impossible due to it being outside accessibly codified language (tone, microexpression, Nth tier reference and irony)
