I do generally wish that universities put more emphasis on doing research and/or co-ops. Personally I think I get a lot out of taking a few classes and putting the rest of my time into research. Not to mention that I started to enjoy school a lot more after I did a few jobs.
Most young people have the bulk of their best learning years lost to worksheet-babysitting & then face immense pressure to pre-commit to a career path they have zero experience working in with 4+ years & six-figure debt as collateral. That this even *sort of* works is incredible

It’s insane. I think I could have been useful in a software firm when I was 13, as many kids today could be.

I learned how to modify (and somewhat write) html code on my own when I was 12 years old creating my MySpace and Xanga pages!
