"Hey, that person is hot" is never how I have understood sexual attraction. There are many people I find physically attractive and have zero sexual interest in.

This comparison made some sense to me for expressing the difference:https://thingofthings.wordpress.com/2019/05/10/sexual-attraction-and-tide-pods/ …

Meh. I've never really connected with ozy's takes on sex. I can conceive of having sex with virtually anyone without finding it particularly repellant *and* I actually feel any flavor of *want* toward very few. I'm very tired of being "educated" about my own experience.

Okay, but then your experience might vary from that of normies (like me) in a significant way? My brain definitely has three different categories for "aesthetic body", "is a thing to have sex with" and "would choose to have sex with".

Maybe? I think it's really hard to compare internal experiences... my best guess is that my experience is pretty typical for (1) women, who are (2) cis, (3) unmarred by a lot of early sexual rules, & (4) unusually disagreeable. #4 is the one that makes me weird.

In the big 5 sense or vernacular sense? seems like a testable hypothesis in the former case
