The whole region needs to wake up; the idea of the SFBA as a green, diverse, or immigrant-friendly area is a social aesthetic — often a frustratingly self-righteous one — and not a defensible frame on present reality. It's all too often delusional rather than aspirational.

It's awful, the Bay Area is just so beautiful. I've lived in Alameda and Half Moon Bay, and they are some of my favorite places in the states. I hate to see the promise of that place collapse like this.
