I reply to people with tens of thousands of followers, and the sometines reply. It's only a few of them that I reply to with the intention of having a conversation though, so I understand your position.

Wouldn't we need tens of thousands of followers ourselves (or have otherwise conducted extensive analyses) to have informative opinions on this? Seems a weird topic to conduct a poll on. That said, I wonder if the thresholds vary for informative replies vs careful posts.

Sometimes it's useful to know what people guess to be ballpark-true and not just what they have strong evidence to support. FWIW I already have a number from a conversation with high-follower count friends a few months ago, and it's one of the possible answers
