I have a coworker- very nice woman, loves her kids & dogs- who simultaneously believes that anyone who can’t afford a house in SoCal is just a lazy bum who didn’t learn to work hard, and that anyone who votes for [Party] “just doesn’t want to help people.” SoCal’s an odd world.
Very much. She’s smart & a good lawyer, but was able to spend 10 years as a homemaker & then take a job without health insurance in large part due to her spouse’s government job and benefits. Yet the idea of policy for making housing available- “they just want a handout!” Sad.
