Finding that I want read -> think -> tweet more, but it's especially hard to do so when I'm slinging code for 8 hours/day! Any tips on implementation from current/previous devs?

This is not helpful. It's the sort of comment that discourages people from being honest about their challenges, and it's frankly misleading at best. "Coding" is shorthand for a ridiculously wide variety of work. Whatever you think you're signaling here, trust me: you're not.

A day spent implementing a familiar framework vs. refactoring vs. writing unit tests vs. building out a new feature that doesn't pattern-match well to prior work — all are a day of "coding." Very different from each other, for different minds, & w/ different levels of experience.

"What really helped me was pausing, reading a lot of books and being very very deliberate" is a much more helpful comment than "if it doesn't feel trivial, you're doing it wrong." Get it?
