Finding that I want read -> think -> tweet more, but it's especially hard to do so when I'm slinging code for 8 hours/day! Any tips on implementation from current/previous devs?

Oof, yeah, brain fatigue is very real for me when I'm doing certain kinds of coding projects. You could try shifting your schedule around a bit and front-loading an hour or so of reading/writing in the morning. Napping may be helpful. Playing with diet/eating times may be helpful
