IMO, it's a great example of what a greasy and fat-fingered and clumsy thing human speech is relative to what we grab with it. How much epistemic confusion is just people handling ideas powerful enough to launch spaceships w/ language barely better than "Me Tarzan, you Jane"?
A nice insight from co-reading Minsky & Hamming is that clarity of thought + richness of content go together — try to think *about thinking* too much without keeping your finger on the map and you'll lose your place pretty quickly. But still: some ideas launch rockets, some don't

Exactly the reason I love math.
Not just language. It's incredibly confusing to even just think about the ontological differences between, say, numbers, ideas, truth, counting, etc. The many precise ways in which all of these exist in the world are super confusing and most people conflate most of it imo.
